On the 1st of January 2004, Eumedica, a member of the Belpharma Group, merged with the Bournonville Pharma, a pharmaceutical company which has been operating in the Benelux since 1950.

The new entity, Eumedica, also has establishments in Italy (Eumedica Italia srl) and in Switzerland (Eumedica Pharmaceuticals AG).
